These Bootcamp Terms of Service ("Bootcamp Terms") govern your enrolment in and use of The Developer Culture's learning programmes, mentorship sessions and associated services. By enrolling in any programme or booking a session, you agree to these Bootcamp Terms in addition to our Website Terms of Service.
Enrolment is confirmed upon:
Upon enrolment you will receive a confirmation and programme outline. You must be at least 18 years old to enrol. Students under 18 may only enrol with written consent from a parent or legal guardian.
Our programmes are delivered via a blended learning model including:
Session schedules are agreed between the student and mentor and may be adjusted with reasonable notice from either party. We reserve the right to substitute a mentor where necessary, with prior notification.
As a student, you agree to:
4.1 Monthly Plans: Fees are due at the start of each calendar month. Failure to pay within 7 days of the due date may result in suspension of access to sessions and materials until payment is received.
4.2 Full Path Packages: Full payment (or agreed first instalment) is required prior to commencement. Instalment arrangements must be agreed in writing before enrolment begins.
4.3 Individual Modules: Payment is required in full before the module commences.
4.4 All prices are quoted in South African Rands (ZAR) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 30 days' written notice to existing enrolled students.
5.1 Free Intro Call: The introductory lesson is provided at no cost and carries no obligation to continue.
5.2 First Paid Lesson Guarantee: If you are not satisfied after your first paid lesson, you may request a full refund within 48 hours of that session. Refunds under this guarantee will be processed within 5–10 business days.
5.3 Monthly Plans, Cancellation: You may cancel your monthly plan at any time by providing written notice to info@thedevculture.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing month. No partial-month refunds are provided unless the First Paid Lesson Guarantee applies.
5.4 Full Path Packages, Cancellation: Where a student cancels a full path package after the First Paid Lesson Guarantee period has expired, a pro-rata refund will be calculated based on sessions and materials used, less a 10% administrative fee. No refund is available after more than 50% of the programme has been delivered.
5.5 Missed Sessions: Sessions cancelled by the student with less than 24 hours' notice will be forfeited unless the cancellation is due to a documented emergency. Sessions cancelled by The Developer Culture will be rescheduled at no cost to the student.
5.6 We reserve the right to terminate a student's enrolment without refund in cases of material breach of these Bootcamp Terms, including abusive conduct towards mentors or staff.
Monthly plan subscribers may request to pause their subscription for up to two (2) consecutive months per calendar year. Pause requests must be submitted in writing to info@thedevculture.com. Access to materials and mentor sessions will be suspended during the pause period and billing will resume at the end of the pause period.
Certificates of completion are issued to students who successfully complete a Full Path Package (Single Track or Full-Stack + Specialisation). A certificate will not be issued if:
Our certificates recognise programme completion and are not accredited qualifications under the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) framework. We make no representation that our certificates will be accepted by any third party as an equivalent to a formal qualification.

We are committed to providing a respectful, inclusive learning environment. The following conduct will not be tolerated and may result in immediate termination of enrolment without refund:
The Developer Culture does not guarantee employment, salary outcomes, or specific career results following completion of any programme. Our programmes are designed to equip students with relevant skills; actual outcomes depend on individual effort, market conditions and other factors outside our control.
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, our liability for any claim arising from your enrolment shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the three months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Bootcamp Terms is intended to limit or exclude any right you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other applicable South African legislation. If any provision of these Terms conflicts with your statutory rights under the CPA, the CPA will prevail to that extent.
In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to first use our Student Complaints Procedure (see below). If a dispute cannot be resolved internally, either party may refer the matter to mediation before initiating legal proceedings. These Bootcamp Terms are governed by South African law.
We may update these Bootcamp Terms with 30 days' written notice to enrolled students. Continued enrolment after that period constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
For questions about these Bootcamp Terms, contact us at info@thedevculture.com.

Where The Developer Culture loans equipment to a student for the duration of a programme:
We work with registered South African e-waste recycling organisations that comply with applicable environmental legislation. We will not use recycling partners who export e-waste to non-OECD countries for informal processing.
We encourage our students to adopt responsible e-waste practices in their own lives. We recommend:
This policy will be reviewed annually and updated to reflect changes in South African environmental legislation and best practice.

The Developer Culture is committed to providing a high-quality learning experience. We take all student concerns seriously and aim to resolve complaints fairly, promptly and confidentially. This procedure outlines how to raise a concern and how we will handle it.

We encourage students to first attempt to resolve concerns informally. In many cases, a straightforward conversation can resolve the issue quickly.
How to raise an informal concern:
We aim to respond to informal concerns within 2 business days.
If your concern is not resolved informally, or if the nature of the complaint makes informal resolution inappropriate, you may submit a formal complaint.
How to submit a formal complaint:
We will acknowledge receipt of your formal complaint within 2 business days.
Upon receipt of a formal complaint:
If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your formal complaint, you may request a review. To do so:
Our decision at appeal stage represents The Developer Culture's final internal position on the matter.
If your complaint has not been resolved to your satisfaction after completing our internal process, you have the right to refer the matter to the following external bodies, depending on the nature of your complaint:
All complaints will be treated with strict confidentiality. Information about your complaint will only be shared with those who need to be involved in the investigation. We will not use the fact that you have raised a complaint against you in any way and we are committed to ensuring that raising a complaint does not negatively affect your enrolment or learning experience.
To submit a complaint or for questions about this procedure:
We value every student's experience and are committed to continuous improvement. Your feedback, even when it's a complaint, helps us do better.
